Exact Diagonalization¶

This page will provide an introduction to exact diagonalization (ED). It will cover the formulation of quantum lattice models, the problem of exponentially scaling Hilbert spaces, and why ED provides exact insights but is fundamentally limited to small system sizes (typically \(N \sim 20-30\) sites depending on the model). The sparsity of quantum Hamiltonians will be discussed as the key motivation for iterative methods.
